Italian grocery online: straight from the producer, no middlemen
An Italian grocery store is the place you go for what the supermarket doesn't offer: preserves with a short ingredient list, made by someone whose name you know. Minnelea is that grocery store, with one difference — we don't resell Italian products, we make them. A family farm in Cilento, Campania, two hours south of Naples.
What is an Italian grocery store?
An Italian grocery store is a shop specialising in Italian food products: preserves, oils, pasta, cured meats and cheeses, selected for their origin rather than their price. The difference from a supermarket aisle comes down to three things: references made in small batches, traceability back to the producer, and a range chosen by someone who has tasted it.
Most Italian grocery stores buy from importers, who buy from wholesalers, who buy from producers. Each step adds a margin and moves further from the field. We removed those steps because we are the starting point.
What you'll find with us
- Artisanal extra jams — white figs from Cilento, strawberries, mixed berries, black blueberry. Fruit, cane sugar, lemon juice: nothing else.
- Citrus marmalades — oranges, lemons, orange and lemon, with juice and peel.
- Ready tomato sauces — four recipes in 270 g jars, cooked sous vide at low temperature.
- Vegetables in olive oil — aubergines, peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, tapenade and pumpkin cream.
- Gourmet gift baskets — from 6 to 18 jars, gift wrapping included.
Local grocery store or online Italian grocery?
The two complement each other, and they don't serve the same moment.
| Local grocery store | Direct from producer | |
|---|---|---|
| Fresh products (cheese, cured meats) | Unbeatable | Not applicable |
| Preserves and jars | Importer's range | Made on site, in small batches |
| Traceability | Brand on the label | Named producer, with their address |
| Middlemen | Two to three | None |
| Availability | What's on the shelf | What the season has given |
For a cheese platter, go to your cheesemonger. For a jam whose fruit origin you want to know, it's better to ask whoever picked it.
How to recognise a genuinely artisanal Italian product
Three verifiable criteria on the label, even before tasting.
The length of the list. An artisanal jam contains three ingredients: fruit, sugar, lemon juice. As soon as pectin, thickeners, flavourings or acidity correctors appear, you're no longer in artisanal territory but in standardised production.
The fruit proportion. Under EU directive 2024/1438, in force since 14 June 2026, a fruit spread must contain at least 450 g of fruit per kilo, and 500 g/kg for the Extra category. Our jams range between 66 and 130 g of fruit per 100 g of finished product, depending on the variety: above the legal minimum.
The producer's name. A brand is not a producer. Our labels show Azienda Agricola Minnelea, with the place of production: Cilento, Campania.
Low-temperature vacuum cooking
The fruit is cooked under vacuum, well below 100°C. Compared with traditional cooking in an open pan, the colour stays vivid, the aroma doesn't evaporate and the fruit's structure holds. That's also why we need neither added pectin nor preservatives: density comes from the cooking, preservation from the vacuum in the jar.
Delivery to France

Who we are
Azienda Agricola Minnelea, a family farm in Cilento, Campania. We grow, transform and ship from the same place. Three of our products have been recognised: the Fig Jam received the Great Taste 2025 award in the UK and the WineHunter Award Gold at Merano WineFestival, the Sun-Dried Tomato Tapenade the WineHunter Award Gold, the Black Blueberry Jam the WineHunter Rosso 2024.
We do not belong to any origin-certification consortium, and we are not certified organic. What we can prove are the awards we've won and the ingredient list.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy Italian products online without going through a reseller?
Directly on the producer's website. Minnelea is a farm in Cilento that sells its own preserves: there is no importer or wholesaler between the jar and you.
What's the difference between an Italian delicatessen and a supermarket aisle?
Batch size and traceability. A delicatessen works with producers who make small quantities with identifiable origin; a supermarket aisle favours consistency and volume, which implies stabilised recipes and often additives.
How much does delivery to France cost?
Free from €49 of order, €13 below that. Delivery takes 3-5 working days. The €34.90 Welcome Box ships free regardless of the amount.
Do your jams contain sugar?
Yes. All our sweet references contain cane sugar. We don't have a no-added-sugar range. What sets us apart is the high fruit proportion, not the absence of sugar.
Are the products origin-certified or organic?
No. Minnelea does not belong to any origin-certification consortium and is not certified organic. Our figs are described as white figs from Cilento, with no certified origin claim.
How long do the jars keep?
Unopened, until the date shown on the label, kept cool and away from light. Once opened, in the fridge: jams and marmalades three to four weeks, vegetables in oil two to three weeks, tomato sauces one week.
Can I give a gift basket made of your products?
Yes. The baskets range from 6 to 18 jars, gift wrapping is included and shipping can go directly to the recipient's address.
Do you deliver to shops and restaurants?
Yes, direct from the producer. Write to us for the conditions for resellers, delicatessens and establishments.
