Italian artisan preserves: choosing flavours and uses
Share
The right preserve depends on what you are serving. Breakfast bread, mature cheese and a tart call for different pairings. This guide takes you from flavours to Minnelea jars; separate articles explain labels and the meaning of awards.
Choose the jars for your table
For bread and yoghurt: start with everyday flavours
Strawberry and apricot accompany bread and yoghurt; black bilberry brings a more tart flavour, while fig has a sweet, rounded character. Dolce Risveglio lets you alternate between them without building an assortment from scratch. Its contents are fixed: choose an individual jar if you want just one fruit.
For cheese: serve the preserve separately
Try fig with mature pecorino, black bilberry with fresh creamy cheese, and apricot with ricotta. Begin with a small taste and leave room for the cheese. The Tagliere set brings together three preserves and peppers in oil; cheese and cured meats are not included.
For tarts and biscuits: choose the filling flavour
Crostate & Dolci is intended for home baking and contains fig, strawberry, apricot and mixed berries. For a professional filling produced to order, see the pastry baking range. This is a separate offer, with format and terms agreed for the order.
