The quick fig & cheese dip
- 200 g cream cheese or ricotta
- 3 tbsp fig confettura
- a drizzle of olive oil, freshly-cracked black pepper
- optional: chopped walnuts
Beat the cream cheese until smooth, fold in the fig confettura or simply spoon it on top as a glossy layer, then scatter over walnuts and pepper. Serve with crusty bread or grissini.
Why fig and cheese are a perfect match
The natural sweetness of figs creates the ideal counterpoint to salty, mature cheeses such as Pecorino, Gorgonzola or goat cheese. This sweet-savory interplay is a cornerstone of Italian antipasti culture.

Fig confettura also pairs beautifully with grilled meats, on bruschetta with fresh cheese, or as a glaze. A single spoonful is enough to elevate any dish.
