Feigen-Dip: 5 Rezepte mit Feigenkonfitüre — von Käseplatte bis Grillabend

Fig Dip: 5 Recipes with Fig Confettura — From Cheese Board to Grill Night

The fig dip is the Swiss-army knife of aperitivo cooking: sweet enough for cheese, punchy enough for grilled meat, fast enough for surprise guests. The base for all five recipes is the same — one jar of good fig confettura — and none takes longer than ten minutes. The better the jar (real fruit content, no thickeners), the better the dip: here the confettura isn’t just an ingredient, it’s the star of the show.

1. The Classic: Fresh-Cheese & Fig Dip (5 minutes)

Stir 200 g fresh cheese with 3 tbsp fig confettura — don’t make it smooth, leave a visible swirl. Salt, pepper, a few drops of lemon. Serve with crackers, grissini, apple slices. The dip that always disappears first on any bring-a-platter table.

Upgrade: toasted, chopped walnuts on top and a thread of olive oil.

2. Fig-Mustard Dip (3 minutes — the cheese-board hero)

Mix 4 tbsp fig confettura with 1 tbsp Dijon mustard and 1 tsp whole-grain mustard. That’s the instant version of the classic fig mustard — a secret weapon with mountain cheese, pecorino and blue. Keeps two weeks in the fridge. Wondering why sweetness and aged cheese work so well? Read our post Jam & Cheese.

3. Gorgonzola & Fig Dip (8 minutes — for the bold)

Beat 100 g gorgonzola with 100 g mascarpone until creamy, fold in 2 tbsp fig confettura, add cracked pepper. Sweet meets blue — the combo Italians serve as crema al gorgonzola e fichi on crostini. Pair with pear slices and toasted walnut bread.

4. Fig-Balsamic Dip for Grilled Meat (5 minutes)

Warm 4 tbsp fig confettura with 2 tbsp balsamic and 1 tsp finely chopped rosemary in a small pan, then let cool. The result: a glossy, sweet-tart glaze-sauce for pork tenderloin, chicken or halloumi — the grown-up BBQ sauce.

5. Yogurt & Fig Dip (3 minutes — the light option)

200 g Greek yogurt, 2 tbsp fig confettura, lemon zest, mint. Works sweet (with fruit, as a breakfast-bowl topping) and savoury (with roasted veg and flatbread) — just add a pinch of salt or cinnamon depending on the mood.

The Confettura Question

All five recipes stand or fall with the jar: a confettura with a high fruit content and no thickeners brings real fruit texture and honeyed notes — a sugar-bomb version just makes the dips cloying. What to look for when buying (fruit percentage, ingredient list, variety) is covered in our big Fig Jam Guide.

FAQs

How long do the dips keep?
Fresh-cheese, gorgonzola and yogurt dips: 2 days covered in the fridge. Fig-mustard and balsamic versions: 2 weeks — they contain no fresh dairy.

Can I use fresh figs instead of confettura?
For dip consistency you’d have to cook them down first — the confettura has already done that work. Use fresh figs as decorative slices instead (or double up and place a few on the platter next to the jar).

Which dip for the Christmas buffet?
The fig-mustard next to the cheese board and the gorgonzola dip on crostini — both can be prepped the day before.
