Preserves for cheese: pairings to try

Start with the flavour of your cheese and try a small amount of preserve beside it. Fig, black bilberry and apricot offer different starting points: tasting helps you choose the combination you enjoy.

Fig with a savoury cheese

Try fig preserve beside mature pecorino. Taste the cheese alone first, then add a little fruit to the next bite. If you mainly taste the preserve, use less so both flavours remain recognisable.

Bilberry and apricot with fresh cheeses

Try black bilberry with fresh goat’s cheese and apricot with ricotta. These are suggestions to explore, rather than rules for every cheese. Keep the jars separate so you can change combinations without mixing ingredients immediately.

The set or a single flavour

Tagliere contains fig, black bilberry and apricot preserves plus peppers in extra virgin olive oil. If you need just one preserve, choose that individual fruit jar. Cheese, cured meats and bread are not included; complete your shopping for the board you want to serve.

Ingredients and serving

Read each product’s ingredients: the fig recipe is not identical to every other flavour. Follow the label for storage and opened jars. The linked guides cover cheese quantities and organising your table.
